L'il Trades People Workshop

Perkins-Caron Home Centres took centre stage at this year's Spring Home & Leisure Show - by building it!

Perkins-Caron and Cornwall Concrete Products teamed up to construct a spectacular ‘ultimate backyard’ stage which became the backdrop for a number of demonstrations. Master Gardner Larry Hodgson offered a pot pourri of gardening tips while along both sides of the stage, Perkins-Caron and Cornwall Concrete presented terrific ‘how-to’ demonstration on deck building and patio paver stones construction.

The combined booths won the Best Exhibitor Award.

Perkins-Caron also presented its popular Lil' Trades People Workshop. Over 50 kids built a bird feeder and were introduced to tools and basic carpentry.

Once again Exhibitors were pleased with the size of the crowds and the opportunity to showcase the many home, leisure and garden products and services. The unanimous verdict was that the Show was an outstanding venue for greeting old customers and welcoming new ones.

The Chamber’s annual Spring Home & Leisure Show has set new benchmarks for both quality exhibits and attendance.

RONA Home Centre Builds for Hospital Future

RONA Home Centre Becomes Major Donor
Presenting the cheque to Bob Kilger (centre), chair of the campaign's Major Gifts Committee, are (l - r) Roy Perkins, Muriel Perkins, Lori Beaudette and Marcel Caron.
Roy Perkins and Marcel Caron, co-owners of Perkins-Caron Home Centres in Cornwall, presented a gift of $35,000 to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation's "Our Hospital, Our Future" campaign.

"Marcel and I wanted to clearly demonstrate our support of the Hospital project", said Roy Perkins, who also volunteers as a member of the Foundation Board. "Our entire staff recognizes the value of the facility and the efforts of the people that work there. We hope that this small contribution will help see construction start sooner rather than later."

"Our Hospital, Our Future" is the Foundation's fundraising campaign to raise $12 million, which is the public share of the cost to redevelop the Cornwall Community Hospital.

Susan Carter, Chair of the Aultsville Theatre Volunteer Management Committee, is pleased to announce that Perkins-Caron Home Centres has just become a community partner with Aultsville Theatre.

The generous donation from co-owners, Roy Perkins and Marcel Caron, of $1,000 in materials toward the upkeep of the theatre is greatly appreciated.

One of Aultsville Theatre’s continuing goals is to upkeep the theatre so that it is a showcase venue for artists and patrons alike. To accomplish this, they recently had the theatre painted for the first time ever since its construction, repaired soon-to-be re-upholstered seats, and replaced curtains, lighting and sound equipment. Support from Perkins-Caron Home Centres will provide much needed funding to maintain the facility.

“Aultsville Theatre had a need and we were glad to provide the materials to meet that need. The theatre has a history in this region and the Rona Home Centre is more than happy to become a community partner with the facility,” said Roy Perkins.
